Clarksville Sunset
After spending several mid-day hours at Clarksville on Saturday, 01-30-2010, (See the "Clarksville Eagles" Gallery) I got to thinking about the lighting and decided to return the next day, Sunday. But, I waited until about 4:00 in the afternoon in order to hopefully capture some good shots in the light of the setting sun. The lighting on clear winter afternoons has always been my favorite. Generally, there is a golden glow for about 45 minutes, then as the sun sinks to the horizon, the shades turn to pink and increase to almost magenta. Once again, I couldn't resist including all 131 photos that I ultimately put in this gallery. I took almost 1,100 pictures in the hour I was there. Each photo included has something unique about it. Maybe it's the color of the ripples in the water, or the way the water "splash" appears behind the eagles feet, or the radiance of the feathers on the underside of an outstretched wing in the golden light.
